It’s Cervical Cancer Awareness month, and this is my story….

February 19, 2013If you are in New York and you love to eat, especially at well-known restaurants without sacrificing half of your paycheck, then you must do Restaurant Week!
I discovered RW through my dear New Yorkers friends, who told me that I could eat at high end restaurants just by paying a pre fixe menu. You get the chance to enjoy a three course meal (yes, dessert is included!) for lunch or dinner. Usually lunch price range between 25-30 and dinner between 35-40 (not including tip).
Many people are afraid or just prefer to stay away from Restaurant Week because they feel they won’t have a good experience, either with the service or the food, or they just don’t want to deal with crowded places. However, let me tell you that I’ve been doing this twice a year (Summer and Winter) since 2009 and all the places I’ve gone I have really enjoyed it. For the most part, great food, good service and fair price.
Here some places I recommend:
-Steak: Ruth’s Chris, Prime, Smith & Wollensky
-Italian: Del Posto
-Peruvian: La Mar
-American: The Water Club, Park Avenue, David Burke Kitchen
-Japanese: Nobu, Morimoto, Tao
-French: DBGB
-SouthEast Asian:Spice Market
-Seafood: City Lobster
-Puerto Rican: Sofrito, Sazon
-Mexican: Dos Caminos
-Most romantic restaurant: One if by land, two if by sea
To make reservations I totally recommend Open Table, website that features a list of participants restaurants and where you can make reservations. I use this site all the time and it’s really good.
Let me know if you do RW and where you decided to go. Buen provecho!
